Sutmöller pointed to ASG's year as a team effort.
"Each cabinet member had goals they laid out early this year that they actually accomplished," he said.
Sutmöller said that he is most proud of the work ASG has done with establishing a method of debt relief for student organizations, and his main platform while campaigning last year, academic advising.
"It's not that (advising) is going to be 10 to 15 percent better tomorrow," he said. "But we've laid the groundwork for vast improvement you'll see two to three years from now."
Bennett said that work like this has set a good foundation for president-elect Mike Scott well.
"The fact that Jens can walk into (Miami President David) Hodge's office and get a budget increase (for ASG) while (Miami University) has a deficit says a lot," Bennett said.
Sutmöller said that Scott will have to rally the student body behind him to be effective, and to remember that leading ASG requires a team effort from cabinet and the senate.
"No single person can make a huge impact," he said.
With his days as a student politician nearing an end, Sutmöller plans on taking his experience to an undetermined political campaign after graduation.
