Student receives 3 citations after local noise complaint

At almost 1 a.m. Friday, Oxford police were dispatched to a noise complaint on East Vine Street. Upon arrival, officers found that the noise was coming from a stereo playing at 324 E. The male then reportedly handed the beer to the officer when he observed him. The officer then asked how old the subject was, and the male allegedly told the officer 21. But when asked to produce identification, the male reportedly told the officer that he did not have any. According to the report, the male smelled strongly of alcohol. Investigation then reportedly lead the officer to identifying the male first-year Scott Scholtz, age 19. Miami sophomore 'hugs' wall while urinating in alleyway

At almost 2 a.m. Saturday, an Oxford police officer observed a male urinating in the alley across from 12 E. Park Place. Reportedly, the male continued to hug the wall as the officer approached, and even as the officer spoke to him, the male continued to urinate. The male told the officer his name was William Landphair and that he was 24, according to the license in his wallet. The officer then reportedly found a Miami University ID card that identified him as sophomore Trenton Landphair. The male allegedly told the officer that he was wrong and his birthday was Feb. 20, 1984. Eventually, Landphair admitted to the officer that he was only 20 years old and his name was Trenton. Landphair was reportedly so intoxicated that he needed support while walking to the Oxford Police Department (OPD). According to the report, Landphair was unable to recite any names of friends to call and get him. Landphair reportedly had difficulty speaking and often didn't make sense. Landphair was cited with underage intoxication and falsification.

Immediately, the male subject reportedly told the officer that was his "fake ID." He was then identified as sophomore Bradley Mattson, 20. He was taken to OPD for booking where he was reportedly so intoxicated, he passed out on the booking room floor. Oxford Life Squad was summoned and Mattson was taken to McCullough Hyde for treatment. Mattson was cited with underage intoxication and misrepresentation.

MUPD overhears first-year talk of 'running from police'

At around 1 a.m. Sunday, a Miami officer in a cruiser noticed three male subjects sitting at a picnic table outside of Stanton Hall. The officer noticed that there was a lighter that was lit several times and an object being passed between two of the males. The officer also noticed that one of the male subjects continued to look to the left and right. When the officer approached, the three males reportedly ran away. A pair of flip-flops were reportedly located, but the three males could not be found in the quad. At almost 2:45 that morning, the officer was making rounds in Stanton Hall when a male talking about running from the police was heard behind a door. He was identified as first-year Ryan Burke, and after questioning, Burke admitted to smoking marijuana at the picnic table. Burke was cited with obstructing official business.
