Miami senior agrees to pay for damages to bar window
Oxford police responded to a damage incident just past 2 a.m. Saturday at Brick Street Bar.
The officer reported seeing a male subject punch the front door of the bar and shatter the glass.
The reported male then attempted to run away before employees apprehended him. He was identified as Miami University senior
Richard Cosgray.
After investigation, police found that Cosgray allegedly became angry after being escorted out of Brick Street Bar.
Cosgray reportedly appeared intoxicated, but he spoke to Brick Street's owner at the station and agreed to pay for the damages. The owner told police that he did not wish to pursue criminal action as long as Cosgray paid for the door.
Cosgray was cited for disorderly conduct.
OPD identifies attempted underage liquor purchase
At 9 p.m. Friday, Oxford police working in plain clothes at Oxford Spirits Liquor Store identified a male subject attempting to buy alcohol underage.
According to the police reports, a young looking male approached the counter of the shop with three bottles of Smirnoff Vodka, a bottle of Svedka Vodka, a bottle of Chopin Vodka, a bottle of Crown Vodka, a bottle of Lady Bligh Rum and a bottle of Southern Comfort.
The male then handed the cashier a Louisiana driver's license. The cashier spoke to the officer and expressed a concern that the license may be a fake.
The officer then ran the license through dispatch to find that it matched that of a 53-year-old female's license there.
When the officer spoke to the male, he was identified as Miami first-year Bennet Krejci, 18.
As the officer gathered his real information, Krejic reportedly admitted to the fact that he was buying the alcohol for him and his friends back at his dorm.
He said that the $256 he was carrying was for a large order of alcohol for the group.
He was cited with attempting to purchase alcohol underage and possession of a fake ID.
Oxford police cite first-year for attempting to buy alcohol
Oxford police on detail at Oxford Spirits at almost 8 p.m. Friday reported a young looking male approach the counter with two bottles of rum and two bottles of vodka.
He then allegedly handed the owner an ID from New Hampshire.
The owner told the officer that he believed the ID was a fake. The officer then positively found the ID to be a fake and then proceeded to speak with the owner.
Investigation found the male to be Miami first-year Michael MacLean, 18.
MacLean was taken to the police cruiser and cited with attempting to purchase alcohol underage and possession of a fake ID.
According to the report, photos were taken of the liquor for evidence and returned to the store.
Officers respond to stolen Beta composite portrait
At around 2 p.m. Friday, members of the Beta Theta Pi fraternity house alerted Oxford Police that there had been a burglary at the 200 East High St. residence.
The report states that the burglary must have taken place between 2 a.m. and 2 p.m. Friday.
The missing property of the house was found to be a 2000-2001 composite portrait of all the fraternity members.
The composite was located in the dining room near the front of the fraternity building and was anchored to the wall.
