Local resident throws bottle, receives felonious charges

OPD officers were dispatched just past 2 a.m. Saturday morning to Brick Street Bar and Grille regarding a fight uptown.

When Oxford police officers arrived, they found two individuals bleeding from their heads. Cincinnati resident Lakristopher DeVant, 21, and Oxford resident Jonathan Feazell, 21, told officers they had been hit in the head by a beer bottle thrown by an unknown male who ran southbound on Poplar Street.

A male was located matching the description and identified as Oxford resident Todd Menkhaus, 23. DeVant told officers that Menkhaus became upset when DeVant got in line with his friends in front of Menkhaus. Devant stated that Menkhaus followed him around the bar once inside until a friend told the manager about Menkhaus' behavior.

When management of Brick Street asked Menkhaus to leave, he reportedly became upset and threw a bottle at DeVant's head. Feazell was reportedly a Brick Street employee who also sustained several cuts from the same bottle.

Menkhaus was charged with two counts of felonious assault and one count of misdemeanor assault. In addition, he was transported to Butler County Jail. Futhermore, DeVant was transported to McCullough Hyde Hospital for treatment.

Miami University Police requested backup from Oxford police at 3 a.m. Saturday regarding an intoxicated male.

Officers were told the male was walking down the middle of East Spring Street near Poplar Street when he was almost hit by an

He was identified as first-year Holden Crossland, 19. He reportedly smelled strongly of alcohol and was having difficulty standing. Crossland allegedly told officers he drank three or four rounds of alcohol that evening. He was cited with underage intoxication and transported back to Emerson Hall.

Female reports unidentified male looking into window

The Oxford Police Department responded to a call at 2 a.m. Friday at East Sycamore Street regarding an unidentified male looking in a female's window.

Upon arrival, the responding officers spoke to a Miami junior who said she heard a noise outside of her window on the northeast corner of her Sycamore Street house.

Reportedly, when she opened her blinds slightly, she saw an unknown male subject looking back at her and she shut the blinds. After arriving at the residence, Oxford police checked the area surrounding the house, but found no one. The female student was unable to provide a physical description of the subject.

Passing of open container leads to multiple citations

While parked in the Student Health Center parking lot just past midnight Friday, Miami University police noticed two males passing a bottle back and forth before tossing it into the bushes.

They were identified as sophomores Adam Reis and Todd Imhoff. The bottle was found to be Rolling Rock beer and both were cited for underage consumption.

Officers also noticed Reis throw away a cigarette pack while under arrest. A marijuana cigarette was found inside.

When questioned, Reis said the pack wasn't his because he had learned his lesson from a prior arrest. Reis was found to have rolling papers and a Bic lighter but no rolling tobacco. Reis was also cited with possession of marijuana and paraphernalia. Reis and Imhoff were cited with underage consumption.
