Assault results in multiple charges for Miami students

At 1:15 a.m. Friday, Oxford police on patrol on High and Poplar streets reported witnessing a white male subject wearing a black and red jacket strike another male in the face several times with his fist.

The victim of the assault was identified as Miami University first-year Tyler Graham and his alleged assaulter as Miami first-year Joshua Curley. A male present at the assault reportedly ran away heading southbound on Poplar Street. He was apprehended after police officers pursued him on foot.

He was identified as first-year Connor Greenlees. Graham, Curley and Greenlees were reportedly intoxicated and under 21.

Curley was charged with assault and underage intoxication. Greenlees was charged with obstructing official business, underage intoxication and disorderly conduct.

Graham was found to be in possession of a fake ID. He was charged for the ID, disorderly conduct for fighting and underage intoxication.

Intoxicated MU sophomore tries to get in police cruiser

At 2:20 a.m. Friday, Oxford police officers reported a female subject approaching a police cruiser on South Beech and High streets.

She allegedly appeared unsteady on her feet and attempted to open the back door of the cruiser despite the "Caution K-9" signs. According to the reports, the officer yelled at the female to stop and she walked toward an alleyway.

Another cruiser was reportedly called and the female was stopped. She was identified as Miami sophomore Erin McGorry. She allegedly had slurred speech and smelled like alcohol.

When questioned about trying to get in the cruiser, McGorry reportedly told the officer that she wasn't wearing any shoes and her feet were cold. Officers reported they later found McGorry had walked out of her sister's residence without her shoes or purse.

Once identified as 20 years old, McGorry was cited with underage intoxication.

Police respond to unknown bleeding male in bedroom

At almost 3:00 a.m. Saturday, Miami junior Matthew Olsson reportedly called Oxford police to his 400 E. Church St. residence regarding an unknown male sleeping in the first floor bedroom.

According to the report, the residents of the house were tending to Miami first-year Vincent Mandas in the downstairs bathroom when the police arrived.

Mandas was allegedly bleeding from his bottom lip and had soaked part of a pillow with blood. When officers spoke to Mandas, he was reportedly unsure of his surroundings and smelled strongly of alcohol.

Mandas allegedly thought he was at 400 E. Vine St. Once he was brought to McCullough Hyde Hospital for treatment, Mandas allegedly said the laceration on his lip was caused by shot gunning a beer earlier in the evening. The injury required several stitches and Mandas was cited for underage intoxication.

Police discover underage first-year with .203 B.A.C.

At around 4:15 p.m. Sunday, Miami police received a report of a male walking in and out of the street outside the Shriver Center.

When police arrived, a male matching the description had reportedly entered the building. He was stopped while entering the basement of the Shriver Center and identified as first-year Nathan Desai.

Officers reported that Desai smelled strongly of alcohol and had slurred speech. Desai was also allegedly wearing a wristband from a bar.

After a portable breath test was administered, police reported that Desai had a blood alcohol content of .203. Desai was cited for underage intoxication.
