Dana said that these "twists" include current councilors Richard Keebler's ability to look at budgets, Greig Rutherford's background in architecture and knowledge of the zoning codes and Kate Currie's ability to make a thoughtful decision and readiness to vote on issues.
Dana also believes that Conley was great at representing the city.
"My hope is I can do as well as Jerome did," Dana said. "But he leaves big shoes to fill."
According to Conley, Dana is doing a terrific job in her position as mayor, and is handling the demands well.
"I think that Prue will create her own footsteps," Conley said. "The next mayor will have even larger shoes to fill than when I left."
Conley said he is trying to give the new council space by staying out of their way and not interfering with business.
"So often, a former mayor's shadow can be cast upon the community," Conley said.
According to Kyger, who is now a board member for the Oxford Chamber of Commerce, the new city council is working cohesively.
"I think it's a good blend of people," Kyger said.
Kyger believes it is too early to tell how the new group of councilors are doing. He said that it will take between four to six months to get a good idea of their progress.
"I think it's a little too early to see what the general philosophies are and where they want to see the town go," Kyger said.
According to Kyger, the beliefs of the councilors will be apparent when more controversial issues are brought up, such as alcohol legislation.
"There has been no beer pong yet," Kyger said. "When you get topics like that, you'll get a better feel."
