Candlewood Terrace Apartments kicked off an unprecedented recycling project Friday afternoon with a visit from Binny, Rumpke's recycling bin mascot and an appearance alongside Oxford Mayor Prue Dana. The program, "Candlewood Leaps in Recycling," is funded by a grant from Butler County Department of Environmental Services for $2,500 and an additional grant of $500 from the Institute of Environmental Services (IES) at Miami University intends to bring the Oxford apartment community into the recycling world.… Post the First Comment

Butler Co. auditor to resign after guilty plea to felonious charges

Butler County Auditor Kay Rogers will resign March 4 after pleading guilty to charges of fraud. According Butler County Prosecutor Robin Piper, the resignation came in response to Butler County officials requesting that Rogers resign after she pleaded guilty within the past week to conspiring to commit bank fraud and mail fraud as well as filing a false income tax return.… Post the First Comment

City to receive 10 percent of county's federal funds

Butler County has allocated approximately $1.1 million in Community Development Block Grants (CDBG) funds and has given approximately 10 percent of that money to the city of Oxford. The money will be used for specific city improvements-in this year's case, sidewalks.… Post the First Comment
