At 2:00 a.m. Saturday morning, a male entered Oxford Police Station reporting an assault that had just occurred at 45 East Bar. As officers arrived to field the complaint, another male reportedly entered the station's lobby.

According to the report, upon seeing one another, both males took off running. When officers caught up with one male outside of 45 East on Poplar and High Streets, junior Jonathan Gaietto was identified and had apparently sustained a swollen eye. Gaietto was reportedly staggering and smelled strongly of alcohol.

Gaietto allegedly told police that when he was in 45 East, he was punched in the face by and unknown male. After locating the other male allegedly involved in the fight, officers identified senior Ryan Steele and asked him what happened. According to the reports, Steele was helping bouncers remove Gaietto after he had a confrontation with another male at the bar. Steele then said that Gaietto punched him in the mouth. Both males were treated at McCullough Hyde Hospital. Gaietto was charged with assault.
