Sophomore refuses hospital care after uptown slip on ice
At 1:45 a.m. Feb. 1, Oxford Police reported a male falling down on the sidewalk on West High Street.
Upon speaking to the male, officers reported that he apparently fell on the ice and received a laceration on his forehead.
While waiting for paramedics, police identified the male as Miami University sophomore Taylor Hopkins, 19.
According to the reports, officers noticed that Hopkins had the smell of alcohol on his breath.
When asked whether he had anything to drink that evening, Hopkins allegedly said he did. After refusing care at McCullough Hyde Hospital, Hopkins was cited for underage intoxication.
Resistance to Oxford police results in multiple citations
Oxford police were dispatched at 2:15 a.m. Saturday morning to 201 South Main St. regarding an unwanted male on the property.
Once on scene, officers reported a male screaming and yelling obscenities on the porch of the residence. He then allegedly tried to gain entrance into the house.
As on-lookers told the male to calm down, officers instructed him to put his hands on the wall. The male's pants were reportedly wet and he was covered in dirt.
As officers were retrieving the male's wallet, he reportedly reached back to pull it out of his back pocket and tried to turn around. He was then identified as Miami junior Brian Hatterick.
When speaking to the residents of the house, officers reported that Hatterick was attending a party earlier in the evening when he became belligerent.
The resident reported that when Hatterick began urinating on the walls and furniture, they asked him to leave the residence.
He reportedly became belligerent with residents when officers arrived.
After continual resistance, officers took Hatterick to the Butler County Jail. He was cited with obstruction of official business and disorderly conduct.
Local life squad discovers unconscious Miami U. junior
Oxford police officers working at McCullough Hyde Hospital at 1:30 a.m. Sunday had trouble restraining an intoxicated Miami junior.
According to the reports, Oxford Life Squad brought in Danean Keller at about 1:20 a.m. after they recovered her unconscious on her front porch.
Keller was reportedly verbally abusive to hospital personnel and continually got out of her hospital bed. Keller was allegedly very intoxicated and she couldn't stand on her own.
Officers warned Keller that her abusive language was reaching other hospital patients. Reportedly, Keller was cited with disorderly conduct as a result.
ICU burglary attempt leads to arrest of MU senior male
Police were dispatched to McCullough Hyde Hospital at almost 2 a.m. Sunday morning on a report of a burglary to the ICU.
Officers spoke to an ICU worker who said she heard a noise at the window of the unit and found a male ripping the screen off the window.
After the worker asked the male to stop, he allegedly began a conversation with her about prescription drugs and continued pulling on window parts.
According to the reports, the male fought hospital security when they arrived.
When Oxford police officers arrived, the male reportedly continued to resist arrest.
He was identified as Miami senior Eric Eisbrenner by police and cited with burglary, inducing panic, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. Eisbrenner was then transported to Butler County Jail.
