MU male receives citation after using fake identification
At 12:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 18, Oxford Police reported a male holding a shiny can outside of the Hillel Foundation on East Walnut Street. When officers approached, the male allegedly tucked the can under his shirt and turned his back. He then reportedly dropped the can as officers approached. The can was reportedly found to be a Natural Light Beer, and the male was identified as Miami University sophomore Robert Weinfurtner, 19. Two fake Maryland licenses were found on Weinfurtner making him 21 years old. He was cited for an open container, possession of a fake ID and underage possession.
Weaving leads to multiple citations for Miami female
Oxford police on patrol on Patterson Avenue at almost 2 a.m. Saturday noticed a Buick that was weaving and traveling fast. Officers reported that when the Buick almost hit a road sign when it pulled to the side of the road. The officer reported that the car smelled like alcohol. He identified the driver as Miami first-year Natalie Pitheckoff, but she reportedly told the officer that the car was her boyfriend's. Pitheckoff reportedly said that her boyfriend in the passenger seat couldn't drive because he had been drinking. Pitheckoff allegedly performed poorly on field sobriety tests and she was arrested for driving under the influence.
Upon searching the vehicle, officers reported finding a small amount of marijuana. At OPD, Pitheckoff took a Breathalyzer and was found to have a 0.16 percent blood alcohol content. She also allegedly admitted that the marijuana in the car belonged to her. Pitcheckoff was cited for driving under the influence, drug abuse and underage consumption.
Police deploy taser gun to arrest fleeing student
Oxford communications was alerted by Oxford Township Police at almost midnight last Friday that a dark-colored car was driving erratically on Chestnut Street. An Oxford police officer on patrol spotted the car on South Locust Street, weaving past the yellow lines and off the road. After pursuit, the car stopped at Candlewood Apartments and the driver reportedly got out and ran on foot until he slipped on ice. The driver allegedly again attempted to run despite the officer telling him to stop. The officer then reportedly deployed his Taser Gun to the driver's back, which brought him immediately to the ground. The subject was then handcuffed and identified as Miami first-year David Baloun, 19. Officers reported that Baloun smelled strongly of alcohol, appeared highly intoxicated and struggled to walk by himself.
