Miami sophomore reports forced entry at apartment

Miami University sophomore Nathaniel Ogle alerted Oxford police at 8:30 a.m. Thursday that his front door was broken into. His Oxford Commons apartment door sustained heavy damage the evening before, Ogle told police.

The report states that Ogle went to sleep at almost 2 a.m. and woke up to the forced door. Nothing was reported as stolen from the apartment. When officers asked him why the sound of someone forcibly entering his door didn't wake him up, Ogle reportedly said that he sleeps with a fan on in his bedroom.

OPD issues charges for fake ID, underage intoxication

Oxford Police Officer Geoff Robinson observed a male facing the alley door to La Bodega at almost 2 a.m. Saturday morning. When the male turned around, he allegedly appeared to be zipping his pants. When Robinson asked the male for his identification, the male reportedly pulled out two drivers licenses from his back pocket. After fumbling with them, the report states the male handed the officer a Missouri license identifying him as sophomore Edward Rohan, 19.

When the officer asked to see the other ID, he reportedly found it to be an altered license with the birth date of 1988 changed to look like 1983, making Rohan 24 years of age. When asked how much he had to drink that evening, Rohan allegedly told the officer he had one beer at a football game and another at a bar. Rohan was charged with possession of a fake ID and underage intoxication.

After 'maybe 5 beers,' police find male in The Elms lobby

Oxford police located an intoxicated male around 3 a.m. Saturday in the lobby of The Elms Hotel on South Main Street. The subject was allegedly passed out on one of the hotel's couches. He was identified as visiting student Greg Harrill, 18.

After officers woke Harrill, he allegedly smelled strongly of alcohol and had slurred speech. Harrill told the reporting officer that he had consumed "maybe five beers" that night. According to the reports, Harrill did poorly on field sobriety tests and was cited for underage intoxication.
