Miami University senior Nicole Mercurio alerted Oxford Police Thursday regarding an intruder who entered her residence at 20 W. Walnut St.
According to the report, the intruder broke the plexiglass door that led to the basement. A few items were reported as being moved, knocked over or misplaced, however nothing was

The door leading from the basement to the upper portion of the house was apparently slightly ajar, but the chain lock fixed to the door reportedly prevented the intruder from going further. No suspects have been identified.
First-year receives citations after vomiting in hospital
Officer Lara Fening of the Oxford Police Department was alerted around 12:30 a.m. Sunday while on patrol at McCullough-Hyde Hospital.
According to the report, a female was lying on the floor of the waiting room. When the officer came into the room, a male with a bag of ice on his hand was reportedly trying to assist the reported female into two chairs to lie down on.
The female had difficulty sitting up, and her male friend was forced to delay registering with the hospital for his possible broken hand to assist her. The officer reportedly told the female to get a ride home from the emergency room because she was intoxicated. The officer then left the waiting room area.
