Miami male student receives citations for DUI, possession
At 2:30 a.m. Thursday morning, Oxford police stopped a Jeep on West Spring Street for a driver weaving. Miami junior Kristin Scott Goodwin was reportedly driving the Jeep that allegedly smelled strongly of alcohol. Goodwin performed poorly on field sobriety tests. The report states that upon further inspection of the vehicle, two marijuana roaches were found in the ashtray. A glass pipe was also located in the counsel along with two unopened Miller Light beers. At OPD, Goodwin was found to have a blood alcohol content of .083 percent. Goodwin was cited with driving under the influence, underage possession, drug paraphernalia and drug possession.
Combative first-year female unable to walk home on own
Just past 2 a.m. Wednesday morning, Oxford police reported a young looking female on North Main Street being escorted by two individuals. According to the report, Miami first-year Kirsten Ward was unable to walk on her own and she allegedly became combative with the individuals trying to help her walk. She then reportedly fell to the ground. Ward, 18, smelled strongly of alcohol to the reporting officer and her eyes were bloodshot and glassy. Ward admitted to drinking beer earlier in the night with her friends. She was cited for underage intoxication.
Intoxicated senior crashes into house on Ardmore Drive
At almost 3 a.m. Wednesday morning, Oxford police responded to a report of a vehicle that had hit a house at 107 Ardmore Dr. Upon arrival, officers reported that a maroon Mitsubishi had crashed into the corner of the residence and a female was in the driver's seat of the car. The female allegedly told officers that she wasn't the driver right then, but she was earlier before the crash. Miami senior Stacy Singer reportedly smelled like alcohol and had slurred speech. Singer reportedly performed poorly on field sobriety tests. She admitted to consuming four beers during the evening. At the department, Singer blew a .18 percent blood alcohol content in the Breathalyzer. She was cited for driving under the influence and failure to control her vehicle.
19-year-old hides fake ID, OPD finds card in vehicle
Oxford police stopped a Honda at around 9 p.m. Monday for performing an illegal U-turn into a parking spot in front of the Pita Pit on High Street. While the driver was fishing for his license for Officer Geoff Robinson, the officer reportedly saw a Kentucky driver's license on the inside of the male subject's wallet. He then gave the officer an Ohio driver's license that identified him as first-year Kyle Compton, 19. According to the report, the officer asked Compton to step out of the vehicle and to bring the license with him. Compton allegedly told the officer he didn't know what he was talking about. Robinson asked to see his wallet, and when Compton gave it to him, the place where the Kentucky license had just been seen was empty. Upon investigation of the Honda, Robinson located the Kentucky license that identified the male as 22 years old. Compton was cited with possession of a fake ID and for performing a U-turn.

The OPD was never this bad when I was in school - however we were also not this stupid.
