At 2 a.m. Tuesday, Oxford Police were dispatched to Brick Street Bar in response to a highly intoxicated female.

Reporting Officer Jenkins spoke to a Brick Street employee who explained that another employee had found first-year Shae Sellers vomiting in the women's restroom.

Officer cites students after drug suspicion

Early Monday morning, Oxford Police Officer Lara Fening was on foot patrol on the 100 block for S. Main Street when she observed several males inside a residence lighting what appeared to be a pipe in their front window, according to her report.

Officer Fening knocked on the front door and it was answered by the male she had seen putting the pipe to his mouth moments before. The male was also holding a plastic bag of
green vegetation.

The officer identified him as sophomore Jonathan Barron and noticed three individuals shift around on the couch. Fening also reported to hearing the clanking of glass on the floor.

When Officer Fening asked Barron about the contents of the bag, he replied that it was salvia, a legal substance.

Fening asked the individuals on the couch about the sound of glass, and they allegedly replied that it was nothing.

Upon investigation, Fening found what appeared to be a marijuana pipe that was reportedly hot to the touch.

Officer Fening performed a field drug test on the pipe and found it to have marijuana residue; however, the substance in the plastic bag did not test positive for marijuana.

Another male in the residence was determined by the officer to be 21-year-old "extremely intoxicated" junior David R. Alexander.

When asked if he had been drinking, Barron admitted to being mildly intoxicated, and he was cited with underage intoxication.

Both Alexander and Barron were issued tickets for possessing
drug paraphernalia.

Beer pong table results in furniture violation

Miami University senior Jeffrey G. Smith was charged by the Oxford Police Department for an outdoor lawn furniture restriction last Thursday evening.

Officer Durkin noticed empty red cups on top of a table supported by three trashcans on the lawn of 17 W. Collins Street.

According to the reports, there was no one present in the yard at that time, so the officer contacted resident Smith and explained that his apparent beer pong table was in conflict with
city ordinances.

Police reports say Smith understood the violation and was issued a summons.

Male claims 18 people out to beat him up

At 12:30 a.m. Sunday, Jack Whittle, 19, of Cincinnati, called Oxford Police Department about a disturbance on the corner of Sycamore Street and College Avenue.

According to the report, Whittle sounded intoxicated to the dispatcher.

Sgt. John Buchholz found a male matching the caller's description in the area leaning on a telephone pole.

Buchholz agreed that Whittle was apparently intoxicated as the male repeated that 18 people were chasing him to beat him up.

Upon inquiry of where the individuals were, Whittle allegedly explained that he had lost them.

He was arrested for underage intoxication and transported to Butler County Jail.
