The patrolling law enforcement in Oxford is more than doubling this fall, with the Oxford Police Department (OPD) hoping to avoid an often-traditional influx of crime during the first few weeks of school at Miami University.
The OPD announced Aug. 13 the formation of a new law enforcement partnership among themselves, Miami University Police Department, Oxford Township Police Department, Ohio State Patrol, Ohio Investigative Unit and the Butler County Sheriff's Office.
Following this summer's resignation of Oxford's city manager, Oxford City Council will see even more change come this November. …

Jason Madachy lived his life helping others: The Miami University May graduate founded the Phi Delta Epsilon medical fraternity at Miami and raised approximately more than $32,000 for Miami's 2007 Relay for Life.
Jason was an active member of the Sigma Pi fraternity-nicknamed "Fratachy" by his friends-and was enrolled in Marshall Medical School in West Virginia for the fall semester.
