Students receive charges after 'drug use suspicion'

Oxford Police arrested Miami University senior Christopher M. Damico and junior Jared England of 200 A Foxfire Dr. after police had served a search warrant for their residence.

Around 5:30 p.m. Thursday, April 5, police reported finding marijuana, paraphernalia, cocaine residue, stolen property and a subject with outstanding warrants inside the residence.

According to Oxford police Sgt. John Buchholz, police had been collecting information of a drug use suspicion at that residence. Damico was charged with a felony for trafficking of marijuana and a misdemeanor for drug paraphernalia, and England was charged with a felony for possession of cocaine.

Arrest occurs after theft of senior citizen's purse

Oxford Police pursued two alleged purse-snatching perpetrators after they victimized Oxford resident Mary Arthurine Wilson, 70, just past 5 p.m. Sunday evening.

Wilson told police that she was walking with her groceries back to her car in the Kroger parking lot when a young male stole her purse and ran away.

A few witnesses gave chase and identified 20-year-old Oxford resident Terry Burns and an undisclosed juvenile in regards to the theft. Burns was arrested for theft.

MU junior reports bottle thrown through window

Miami junior Edward Przezdecki reported to Oxford Police that a bottle was thrown through a window at his 200 E. High St. residence at 2 a.m. Friday morning.

Przezdecki told police that he was lying in bed when the bottle shattered a back windowpane. Police discovered that it was a Bud Light Beer bottle.

There was reportedly no one hurt in the incident, and no arrests have been made in the case.

Stereo faceplate missing from unlocked vehicle

At almost 5 p.m. Friday afternoon, Oxford Police responded to a theft complaint from Miami sophomore Adam Flesch.

Flesch explained to police that between 10 p.m. Thursday night and Friday afternoon, someone entered his vehicle and removed the faceplate to his car stereo.

Police reports also state that the center console was open, but nothing else was missing. No one was arrested. Reports also state that the car was unlocked.
