I couldn't believe that on Selection Sunday, the selection show actually had meaning to me.

Really, how cool was it when they announced Miami as the No. 14 seed in the Midwest Region facing the Oregon Ducks?

Even though Miami lost in the first round, 58-56, ending Miami's Cinderella season, I didn't feel any disappointment. I wasn't upset or depressed. I was proud.

Just getting to watch the 'Hawks in the tournament was more than enough excitement for me. The fact that Miami made it such a close game made it even better.

For the past few years Miami has constantly had one of its teams step up on the national stage.

Whether it was Ben Roethlisberger leading the Miami football team to a No. 10 national poll ranking, Miami baseball in the NCAA Tournament two years ago or hockey's amazing season last year, we've had a great deal of athletic success.

This season it was the men's basketball team's time to shine and they didn't let their fans down.

It really was a magical run for our RedHawks. An opportunity not many people get in their lifetime.

Sure schools like Duke, North Carolina and Kansas always expect to be in the tournament each season, but when a small mid-major school like Miami gets in - it's something to cherish.

Out of the hundreds of Division-I college basketball schools, just 65 made it to the NCAA Tournament.

Miami was one of those schools.

We were in the big dance.

Thank you Miami basketball for one of the most unbelievable seasons in Miami history.
