Group asks for Amtrak in Oxford

Every year, Miami University students make weekend and day trips across the Midwest and the country by car or by plane, but if a big proposal from a small group passes, they may have the option to travel by train. Butler Co. erroneously distributes food stamps

The Butler County Department of Job and Family Services falsely awarded 204 residents with food stamps in January, February and March of this year, despite the residents' initial eligibility. Of the 204 errors, 97 were administrative errors made by the department themselves, 98 were client errors and nine were intentional fraud, according to Roger Clark, head of the social services fraud unit of Butler County.… Post the First Comment

Police officer makes more than 30 drunk driving arrests in 2008

Oxford Township officer, Constable Patrick Piccioni, received the Top Cop Award from the Southwest Ohio chapter of Mother's Against Drunk Driving (MADD) April 16. According to Andrea Rehkamp, executive director of MADD of Southwest Ohio, the annual award is given to officers in the southwest Ohio region who do a significant amount of work to prevent drunk driving.… 1 Comment

Council approves off-leash dog park

Dog owners may soon be allowed to bring their furry friends to an off-leash dog park in Oxford. Oxford City Council approved the adaptation of Northside Park, located on Morning Sun Road, to include an off-leash dog area at its meeting Tuesday.
