Musical festival to visit Oxford

Abstract:
With the help of a Miami University junior and a Columbus record label, Miami students will have the opportunity to attend Oxford's first annual all-day music festival this spring, 5Fest.

The festival will be held April 26 at Grandfather's Barn, located off Stillwell Beckett Road in Oxford....

5Fest is far from being the first all-day music festival in the Oxford area! I guess they never heard of St. Alphonso's Day, an all day music and culinary fest that has only happened every spring for 28 years. Then there's Camp Buzz, a whole weekend of jam bands that has rocked Camp America (by Hueston Woods Park, at least 3 times.

I know!! I only found out about 5fest by lookiing for info on this year's st. Alphonso's (which was held for several years AT grandfatehr's..its actually the reason he built the main stage!!). I attended and was a "cook" from 1994 to 2000, and hope to again celebrate the FEAST OF ST. ALPHONSO...I'm gusssing 5fest music wouldn't coincide much with the zappa/dead/rusted root ethos of the Original Oxford Music festival..St. Alphonso's Pancake breakfast

This is a good idea, but I just don't see it sticking with students at all since it's emulated off of OU.

This is so dumb. This festival is an OU festival! Not to mention if these people wanted to do it wouldn't it be called ONE fest at Miami? HMMM...first festival at Miami...so lets call it Five Fest...smart.

Actually this will be the 30th St Al's

And I heard, on good authority, that the Butler County Sheriff's dept told the owners of Grandfather's Barn they were not big enough to hold this event and would not let it happen. So I guess there will be no 5fest in Oxford

I'd rather go to an all day FREE musicfest any day
