Chipotle may move to uptown Oxford

Abstract:
There's another piece in the puzzle of what could potentially fill vacancies uptown-Chipotle may move in to a vacant retail space in a new development.

According to Zac Maxwell, service manger of Chipotle in Hamilton, nothing is finalized until the building is actually built, but they have already put a design team together and want a presence in Oxford....

WOW! What a great idea. If Chipotle moves into the ground floor of the old Wendy's site then we'll have Chipotle, Qdobe, and Fiesta Charro all in the same block. We can plant cacti, and strew around some cow skulls and get a real Old Mexico feel in that short stretch of High St. Maybe we can get Wild Berry to change their name to "El Wild Barrio". Ole!

Aw man! I was really hoping for another sub shop, because we don't have enough of those. But Chipotle next to QDoba! Ahhhh....Oxford city planning at it's most brilliant!

Every previous post for this article pokes humor at Oxford or the City Planning Commission. Do you have any better suggestions? The old Wendy's site sat empty for nearly 4 years...Chipotle or not, anything is an improvement. Plus, no matter the restaurant, outdoor seating will positively impact Uptown.

The old location sat empty due to a dispute between the owners & the city of Oxford, not due to a lack of interest! The sitting empty argument doesn't hold water. A business concept that is not already represented would have been nice. Panerra or Atlanta Bread company come to mind. Some sort of burger place in town would be nice - Steak & Shake or White Castles. There are many options besides a duplicate of what already exists next door. Too bad the space wasn't big enough for a Maggie Moos while they were at it.

Why don't they build an over bar. Stop closing all the cool bars uptown. This school is for nerds now!!!

Second this. Maybe an IHoP or Friendly's.

Why do we need another mexican food place. There are already three in Oxford (Fiesta charra, Qdobe, and burrito loco) we don't need another one. I say they put a Noodles and Co. or Potbellies or heaven forbid a Panera.

IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN THESE FRANCHISES, THEN GO TO THE HOME PAGE OF THE COMPANY AND SUGGEST A LOCATION. THESE COMPANIES GENERALLY IGNORE OXFORD BECAUSE OF ITS LOCATION IN THE MIDDLE OF THE BOON DOCKS.

IF ENOUGH PEOPLE GO TO THESE SITES, YOU WILL SEE THESE FRANCHISES COME.
