Try winning a national championship, or even getting to a Frozen Four, before using the word "dynasty" in the same sentence as Miami. At least your hockey program is better than your journalism one ...

Are you serious? Brink of a dynasty? Best ever in college hockey? Did you realize that this story would be in the University wire section on a college hockey website when you wrote this? You just made yourself a laughinstock. Congratulations!

I think maybe you should have done a little bit of fact checking when you wrote this article. If so you would have known that Coach Blasi actully doesn't do ANY of the recruiting for the team. ALL of the recruting is done by Coach Blashill and Coach Bergeron. I also think that this is an extremely poorly writtin article that never should have been printed...

Please don't let this kid write any more sports articles. I'm a Miami alum, but to refer to our hockey team as a dynasty is blasphemy. Have we ever even made the Frozen Four?

Just because you want something to exist, doesn't mean that it does, or ever will. Your four points collapse upon themselves. I especially like the one about how a head coach is so crucial, when you previously were referring to the Dallas Cowboys of the 90's being a dynasty. They did that with two coaches. I am Miami Alum, and would love to see nothing more than a College hockey dynasty, but to lambast others for throwing the word around so lossely, only to then loosen it up some more is irresponsible sports journalism.

Miami has had two good seasons, but has yet to win (or even look very competative in) an NCAA tournament game. You might want to win a few NCAA tourny games over a period of decades (like Minnesota, Michigan, North Dakota, Boston College, Maine, etc) before you start even thinking about the word "dynasty".

hahaha wow, this is probably the worst article I've ever read, if not the funniest. I can't even believe the words dynasty and miami hockey have anything in common as you have yet to reach a frozen four. you need at least 3 championships in less than 5-7 years IMO to be called a dynasty. Maybe 2 in 3 years. But zero doesn't come close. Also...USC overrated? haha. funny. Before you think about becoming a dynasty, try not getting spanked by UofM first.

I love Miami hockey, but it is by no means anywhere close to being a dynasty. Win 10 CCHA titles in a row, add a few Frozen Fours and a couple of national titles, and you might have an argument. A dynasty doesn't choke in the tournament. That's why Kansas basketball isn't a dynasty. That's why Ohio State football isn't one. Miami's good, but not that good.

You are only kidding yourself. Miami has never even accomplished anything in their history that would put them even remotely close to becoming a dynasty. You are talking about a program which has never been to a Frozen Four, has never been ranked No.1 in the nation prior to the 05-06 season, and the great facility you speak of holds 3,000 people less than Yost, which is also small. Having been to both arenas, I can Miami fans stole most of the chants they do during the game from Michigan. Such "powerhouses" like Lake Superior, RPI and Michigan Tech have all won MULTIPLE national titles. Obviously I am biased as a Michigan fan, but whoever wrote this must've been on something real strong if they thought there was a single word of truth in it. Shame on you.

Ask North Dakota and BC how many Frozen Fours they've been to recently. Also, ask ND, BC, Denver, and Michigan how many Natl Championships they've won... and Miami, then get back to me.

This article is the biggest joke ever!! To be a dynasty you would need to win a national championship, I am from the University of North Dakota where we have 7 titles and we are working on 8 this year, we are still playing who is Miami playing in the Frozen Four? Some dynasty, this article isnt even premature its ignorant and wishful thinking

As a Miami student, it's rather embarrassing to have something like this printed in our school newspaper. It only gives outsiders added ammunition to rip on our school and our hockey program. Reading all of these replies to the original article doesn't surprise me in the least bit. If I was a non-Miamian and read this article, I would likely give no respect to our school and think we were a bunch of idiots when it came to knowing something about sports and the term "dynasty".

Nonetheless, I'm excited and proud that our hockey team has gotten a bit of national recognition these last couple of years. Students at our school have really taken to the hockey program and we have created a great environment for our team to place in at our new Goggin Ice Center. But obviously in order for us to gain the respect of the college hockey community, we need to get over the hump and make it to the frozen four.

So, continue having fun bashing this fine article, but please don't judge the whole school and hockey program based on the ignorance of this one sports writer.

Amen Brad. Good to hear that someone at Miami knows something about college hockey. And yes, I have been down to a game in Oxford at the new ice center. Nice facility and spirited student section to say the least.

There are four crucial components of being a good writer and I want to begin to tell why I think I could be considered a good writer.

1 To be a good writer you have to be objective, even about things I like. I'm just the best writer ever and Miami Hockey is even better is all there is to it.

2 Fact checking is necessary. When I became a Miami Bulldog I knew journalism was for me, because of my striving to keep my facts straight Let's go Blue!

3 Ability to remain realistic in describing things. I'm an absolute brilliant genius, I never resort to hyperbole as the best writer ever

4 The fourth pillar of being a good writer is good writing. This is where i fail though since I'm not a good writer at all. Kinda makes you wonder why I wrote all of that when I was missing the largest component of being a good writer anyways. I haven't even come close to writing well. Here is my argument anyways!

Dynasty? hahahahahaha. Win a national title or two, and then start talking. Here is the difference between you and the U of North Dakota. We made it to the Frozen Four the past 4 years in a row, but did not win a title. This equals disappointment. We won the WCHA league title this year, but lost in the first round of NCAA's, this equals HUGE disappointment. You make it to NCAA's a few years, and you call yourself a dynasty? Come on!

GO BEMIDJI STATE BABY!
