I think narrowminded idiots like you are douche bags....i happen to be in the delta chi fraternity in north carolina and know that idiots with ideas like yours are the reason our society hates fraternities.

First off, "Frat's" are not gay so dont speak on something you obviously know nothing about! 90% of the time it is people like you who give fraternities a bad name and not the members. Second, this shirt is only offensive to those who want to be offended. I dont even go to Miami so dont think I am a member of a Miami fraternity and am sticking up for my brothers. However, I am a member of a fraternity at another university in Ohio and I fully support Delta Chi. Get Some!!!

You just said "Get Some." This is typical of a hambone fraternity member. Typical douche. I don't know what school you go to, but here at Miami, we have the womanizing asshole fraternities, the stuck-up metro/homosexual fraternities, etc.

For the record, I was in a fraternity at my previous (much smaller) school. Fraternities at Miami deserve the bad rep. that they get.

Yes, what ever happened to the good old days at Mother Miami when racism, sexism, and pseudo-elitism went unchallenged? Judging by a rash of headlines in The Student this semester, it seems as though little as changed in the values and actions of Miami's students. The only difference seems to be that their views are sometimes publicly challenged leading to ridiculous comments like the one above.

Ladies and gentlemen, I'll be brief. The issue here is not whether we broke a few rules, or took a few liberties with our female party guests - we did.

But you can't hold a whole fraternity responsible for the behavior of a few, sick twisted individuals. For if you do, then shouldn't we blame the whole fraternity system? And if the whole fraternity system is guilty, then isn't this an indictment of our educational institutions in general? I put it to you, Miami Prof - isn't this an indictment of our entire American society? Well, you can do whatever you want to us, but we're not going to sit here and listen to you badmouth the United States of America.

Bottom line: When did you, or anybody become the T-Shirt police? Last time I checked, a person can say what they want to say. In fact, even if you interpret the shirt as most do, you can be friends (or more than friends) with whomever you want, whenever you want to be. Are you saying that us as humans are not allowed to discriminate those who we associate with? So that means you think it should be illegal to say you don't want to be friends (or more than friends) with somebody based purely on their appearance. Wow, you are twisted, because last time I checked, every person on the face of the earth does that. In fact the whole idea is a great reminder of the incongruity between the truths of real life and the bullshit we fool ourselves into believing that we are perfect and treat everybody fairly, and look at all people the same. If that were true, we would be robots, and not individuals at all. Get a grip on reality. This is about more than some fraternity, this is about our freedoms as Americans and the realities of human beings.

Mother Miami has become quite the 'cradle of oversensitivity' as of late. As a past member of a fraternity in Oxford, I can relate to the desire of fraternity members to stand out during recruitment and even to appear with a bit of humor. Are the t-shirts offensive? To some, perhaps. Should they be contractually banned and apologized for? Absolutely not. Publicly scrutinize, or publish a condemning letter, but once you do that, realize that we understood you (the offended party) had nothing to do with it and don't think it's appropriate. If only these shirts were available somewhere I'd wear one to campus myself, since I don't have to conform to the administration's newly-minted greek dress code, wherein anything found offensive by an empowered minority can be banned outright.

I'll be waiting for the letter of apology for the low-cut and high-hemmed clothing sported by many sorority women uptown 6 nights a week for image it seems to portray. I think they owe it to the sensitive campus community.

The whole greek system is a selective process where fraternities and sororities have standards in picking their members. So is it really wrong to continue this mentality and be selective when taking a member of the opposite sex home? If a shirt that pointed out flaws in other attributes of women, would it, too, be ridiculed? I doubt it. So, when a sorority makes a shirt that says something along the lines of "buff guys only," I highly doubt the IFC or male society (if there is one) is deeply offended. They will probably go to the gym and try to look better. I cannot say the same for certain members of different organizations that are upset about a t-shirt.

In all honesty being under 150 pounds, unless you are over 5'10", for a women is called healthy, not anorexic or bulimic. This ban of the t-shirts is completely wrong and should be reversed.

Miami: a university you have to pay up the butt prices to attend. Since it is in the middle of a cornfield you can:
a) get drunk off your a**
b) study your a** off

Tire Swing Art: we only like white people
Dela Chi Shirt: we only like (skinny/pretty) white people

Find any untruths? Let me know.

How about the sorority sisters wear a t-shirt that states:

"No one above .08 ever!"

Teach those frat boys a lesson.

I would just like to point out that the two sororities that complained in the article are NOTORIOUS for fat chicks.

Can't you see, people?! Delta Chi is discriminating against the elderly!!!! Everyone I know that is at least 150 years of age is a proud, highly functional member of their retirement community or graveyard. They would all be happy to visit the D-Chi house for a late-night, but Matlock re-runs sometimes air on TV Land.

Again we try and hide rough truths of society by worrying about peoples feelings instead of telling them the truth. Got news for you future job candidates, how you look can decide how potential employers view you as an employee. Miami wants to get you ready for the real world right? Employers now pay special attention to how people take care of themselves and they do stereotype how you will be as an employee. If you are overweight, they may see you as lazy. People who are out of shape tend to miss more work because of sickness and they certainly can raise health insurance costs for companies. The Panhellenic community needs to start taking the diapers off the people they are trying to look out for and spend more time helping them realize what costs they will pay for being overweight. But what does a bunch of college kids in a organization really know about the real world anyway? No one should feel good about themselves if they are heading down the road to obesity, and average height girl over 150 pds is on that track. The truth hurts.

Randy, my father is a consultant for a prestigious law firm in DC. I was so impressed with what you wrote that I showed him, and he and I agreed that you are star material. His name is Richard, and if you would like to meet him for an interview for a potential internship, than send me an email. He and I think you would be a valuable contribution to his forward thinking firm. A guy like you could go really far, and we both think that if there were more people like you out there, we wouldn't have so many problems with media manipulation and the liberal bias. Thank you for your insight.

Ok, so while I do not think it is fair to call this frat gay or douche bags or anything of that nature, I think it is important to step back and take a look at it from a girls point of view. Apparently little/no women have commented, so let me give you the perspective of not only a female but a student leader who works with females on a daily basis: BODY IMAGE IS A HUGE THING ON THIS CAMPUS!!!! Everyday I hear of a girl going on a fruit detox or working out at the rec for an obsessive 3 hours. It is all because we live in a world where people put so much emphasis on a skinny body. I understand guys want a healthy girl, but why should she be stick thin? Have you ever considered the fact that 150 lbs is the NORMAL body weight for a female 5'6''? So we need to stop making people feel bad about their weight and start letting ladies understand that it is more than OK to be healthy, because do you really want to date a girl that is so skinny you are afraid to touch her? I don't think so. Consider this and we might have a much healthier campus, but more important, a much healthier America.

The shirts shouldn't be banned but I do agree that the mentality of our frats here need to change. Is it really necessary to make a shirt that says that? Is Delta Chi really that lame that they couldn't think of anything better? Sure we all know most guys don't want to date a girl that is overweight but do you really need to wear a shirt that says so? I'm sure that there are people on this campus that don't like all sort of things but they don't make shirt slogans for the world to see especially for a recruitment shirt. As a member of the greek community I think it is embarrassing that slogan is what Delta Chi would like to represent them to their potential new members, they must be trying to recruit more uncreative superficial clones of themselves. So most of you men on here think it's not offensive, easy to say when you are a man and the issue is not relevant to you. Targeting women like this is like someone making a shirt that targets different races. If a frat made a shirt like that it would most definitely not be acceptable, so why is it ok to target women? The attitude of this university needs to change. Previous comments stated that people should live in the real world, but Miami is far from the real world. Most of the real world did not have parents who were executives, does not own a northface or a vera bradley or uggs. Grow up Miami

Seriously?
ok..This shirt was clearly made for potential pledges that are guys..it clearly did it's job of making people laugh, and caused a lot of PR for the frat I think it was genius I just wish Miami and the fraternity and sorority council didn't have so many unnecessary bureaucrats with too much time on their hands and sticks up their asses who are happy and willing to stomp down any sort of creativity most of the time regardless if it's really 'offensive' or not
I am in a sorority, I am a girl, and could really care less and i think if people have a problem don't look at it, can a tshirt really be that bad

I'm a 36 year old Delta Chi alum. The shirt is not that funny. I wish it were. What is funny is how big of deal is being made out of a shirt. Every other shirt in Target Stores these days I think would be more offensive to the easily offended. I seriously doubt t-shirts are what cause body image issues. The fact that fat is generally unattractive in the culture is what causes body image issues. While no one can control their height or bone structure, we can all control our weight.

this world is getting rediculous. what happened to freedom of speach and expression? this shirt was ment to be a joke. if your in college and can't see that then i don't know how you got accepted in the first place. i saw a guy in the mall once and his shirt said "Shut the Fuck Up" and some lady commented saying that was inappropriate. Who cares! if a movie can be rated "R" because of a love scene (with nudity) but can be "PG-13" for violence then these guys should not be ridiculed for their shirt. i mean come on! there are way more inportant things to focus on in these times. How many of these people wasted their time pissing and moaning about the shirt when they could have been doing school work or looking/preparing for future jobs in a crashed economy? Why is everything so "bad" these day's? these people need to get over themselves and just be happy that they have the chance to go to school and live the college experience.

Hello all: Sorry for the confusion, but you see Albert and I just finished traveling forward two years in time! So while everyone else has forgotten about this story, because it's two years old, this is fresh in Albert's mind. So when you see Albert getting all agitated, remember--he doesn't know what happened to the Patriot's "perfect" season and he still doesn't know who our new President is. Treat him kindly and let him continue to focus on events that happened (two years ago).

So if you see a DeLorean, please don't key it. Albert and I still have quite the journey ahead of us.

Thanks.
