Charlie, this is a great story. I am sure it was shocking to hear Boehner say the words he did. I am surprised that he said those things. Very well-written and it held my interest through the story.

PLEASE DON'T VOTE FOR COLOR!! THAT IS RACIST!
I'm so glad to hear someone telling it like it is about Obama's WORK record.
We don't need someone that's afraid to vote in the White House.
This is not American Idol, we need someone with some experience.
John McCain has proven his experience.
Obama consistly compares McCain to Bush, McCain really doesn't like Bush that much.
I'm afraid of having someone in the White House who has no experience. Obama's just a smooth talker (LAWYER); says what people want to hear, talks around the subject.
PLEASE DON'T VOTE FOR COLOR!! VOTE LIKE YOU ARE HIRING SOMEONE TO WORK FOR YOUR COUNTRY.

Well then, the truth is shocking. And even more shocking is Mr. Obama's associations with radicals and domestic terrorists. He had a six year relationship with a man who is proud of the fact that he bombed the Pentagon. This is an extremely challenging time both domestically with regards to the economy and internationally, with regards to the war on terror. We need an experienced leader in the White House. Barack Obama is neither experienced, nor is he a leader. A leader is not afraid to take a stand even if it is unpopular. A leader puts his country first. Vote for John McCain.

Dear D: Yes I totally agree with your comment that we should vote for the man and what he stands for...as most of us are color blind and just want to know what the "change" stands for...is it for "Socialism" or is it for continued respect of our "Constitution" and the support of it to improve our American way of life. NOT what WE, the American people have to do or need to change to fit his ideal...as this is not what representative Government is about.Let's all ask ourselves, is this for his idea of what America SHOULD BE...or is it because he loves America as it stands? I wonder...and it does worry and scare me!

It IS shocking to hear a politician actually call something what it is. To hear arguments for an issue and then abstain from voting for or against it demonstrates one of 2 things, either he is too ignorant to make a decision, or he is afraid to make a decision that can be held against him.

Wake up:
Here is an example of Obameconics for you students...

Your current instructor will be taking 40% of the score from the top students in your class and giving them to the lower students.

So you students that made an "A" and "B" will now make a "C" and "D" respectively. The students that made a "D" and "F" will now have your score raised to a "B" or "C".

Welcome to the new America where we now strive for mediocrity. I am sorry but am annual check for $500 or $1000 is not enough for me to turn my head while the liberals rape the ideals that made this country the greatest country in the world.

Please sift through all the BS and really contemplate how the policies will affect our future. Vote for who you want, just be informed as opposed to these people : http://www.bpmdeejays.com/upload/hs_sal_in_Harlem_100108.mp3

I've never seen someone contradict himself in a 20 sec. tv ad before.... Now he's calling Obama a "chickenshit" at political rallies? Classy dude...

What would you call avoiding taking a stand and casting an aye or nay vote? I've heard many college students talk and they use a lot of worse words than chickenshit! Also, do you follow current events? Two years ago McCain wanted to pull the reins on Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac and the dems, on tape, attacked him and the others making the proposal. I might remind you that the dems took control of congress two years ago and since then the sh*t has hit the fan in this country, ie unemployment, gas prices, food prices-need I go on! Stop feigning shock over a word! I don't really believe you were ever undecided. I'm not that naive!

What's wrong with his statement? You libs have decimated the economy and our national security by forcing companies to outsource or move overseas. You've created the second highest corporate tax in the industrialized world and pushed unionization. Business runs the country, not spotted owls living in an "old growth" forest. By the way, old growth forest is a forest on the DECLINE.

So, vote Obama and you'll kill the country. Boy, its the fall of Rome all over again. Except, it won't be barbarians, it will be the Chinese over running us.

Freaking grow a pair all of you weak kneed liberal losers! Why dont you read the transcript from the House committee hearing in 2006 in which they discussed the danger Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac posed on the economy. Republicans, of course, said there was a danger; Democrats, in all of their spectacular knowledge of economics, denied, denied, denied and attacked the Republicans and auditors. These Democrat foold and their supporters are the are a scourge on political and economic freedon, but you liberal students would rather lick the boots of your left-wing professors as they summarily indoctrinate your small minds.

Once again, we need to read the article. It said that Boehner called Obama a chicken, not a chickenshit. He called the idea of voting "present" chickenshit. Based on Obama's record in the Illinois State Senate, Boehner characterized Obama as a chicken. And that's just Boehner's personal experience. He said that he's voted present during his time as a lawmaker just a couple of times. Obama, while having served less time as a lawmaker, has voted "present" A LOT more times than Boehner. Now, Boehner's been in the House for his service, and the majority of Barack's lawmaking period was spent in the Illinois State Senate. Maybe it's different there. Maybe not. But one thing's the same. Get the quote right.

I agree getting quotes right is one element of telling a story honestly. But honesty also includes owning up to the meaning of the words someone says. When Boehner says "This behavior is chicken shit" and "Barack Obama is guilty of this behavior", don't tell me he's not calling Obama chicken shit. If Boehner denies such meaning, he's chicken shit for not having the courage of his convictions. Will you argue that Elizabeth Dole isn't calling Kay Hagan "Godless"? I hope not. Intellectual dishonesty matters as much as the imprecision in reporting.

Connecting the dots between labeling a behavior as "chicken shit" and accusing someone of that behavior isn't exactly a stretch. Boehner's meaning was as clear as he is an embarrassment to civil Americans.

You are parsing words and ignoring reality. 1) He called Obama a chicken. 2) He said Obama voted Present too often in the Illinois Senate (but not the Us Senate, mind). 3) He said voting that way is chickenshit. 4) Ergo, logically, it follows that Obama, for voting this way, is chickenshit.

Why can't you accept the logical implication of what the man said?

Yes: he said that voting -- a person's action -- "present" is "chickenshit". He said that Obama was "chickenshit".
Based on Obama's record in the Illinois State Senate, Boehner characterized Obama as a chicken.
And that "chicken"s are "chickenshit".
And that's just Boehner's personal experience.
Right: Name-calling, which is childish. It isn't debate, it isn't a challenge to a poli y, it is a personal attack. It is irrational. It is irresponsible. It is, again, CHILISH: He is calling Obama COWARD without providing ANY EVIDENCE for the insult EXCEPT a misrepresentation of the meaing of "present" in the Illinois -- not the OH, not the US -- legislature.
He said that he's voted present during his time as a lawmaker just a couple of times.
So, by his own terms, he (too) is "chickenshit".
Obama, while having served less time as a lawmaker, has voted "present" A LOT more times than Boehner.
But what does voting "present" in the ILLinois -- not OH, not US -- legislature mean? You don't know, do you? And you don't care about that fact, just so long as you can engage in personal attack -- name-calling -- as substitute for REASON.

Student at Miami? Take a course in Philosophy 101, logic, and or Ethics of Reasoning.

Now, Boehner's been in the House for his service, and the majority of Barack's lawmaking period was spent in the Illinois State Senate. Maybe it's different there. Maybe not.
It is different there. And Boehner is MISREPRESENTING that fact, and relying on YOUR IGNORANCE to get away with it. Which is irrational and irrespoinsible. Do we need the irresponsible telling everyone else wow to be courageous?
But one thing's the same. Get the quote right.
I agree: we want to get the quote "right," and not instead deliberately misinterpret it in effort to defend the indefensible: personal attack, based upon misrepresentation of the statistically insignificant -- 3 per cent -- as substitute for mature, adult reasoning based upon facts and policies.

First of all, Mr. Boehner declined to attend the League of Women's Voters' Candidate Forum which was being held on the same evening that he was at Brick Street calling Obama a "chickenshit." Wonder if he would've used the same language at that event?! He's been our representative for 19 years. Personally, I've seen him so emotional that he actually cried at news conferences so I'm certain he feels very strongly about Obama. He was devastated when the Democrats took over the House in '06 and he lost his leadership position...I think that was when the crying started. Normally, he wouldn't know what to say, do, or how to vote on anything if he didn't receive the daily "Republican Talking Points"! Do you suppose Boehner may have been a little "tipsy" and, wanting to be "hip" with this particular audience, he just thought "chickenshit" wasn't all that bad and maybe kind of cool?! The truth is we all know exactly what he meant; if we followed him around on the golf course or if he ever personally came to Miami (it's been forever - sometimes I don't think he knows we're here) - we would think that "chickenshit" was pretty tame compared to what Obama gets called when Mr. Boehner is just "playing a round of golf" with his "peers" or his lobbyists. He seems to be insulting our intelligience and he truly has been an embarrassment as our Representative. But what it really shows is Mr. Boehner's lack of intelligience as he obviously has no command of the english language. If he did, there would be no reason for the "chickenshit" - this is our Representative, folks. He's been our Representative for 19 years.
He's a very big reason why our little corner of Ohio gets very little respect. They want our electoral votes and Mr. Boehner has made a good living at delivering. He's also living up to our stereotype, in that, Ohio is a "flyover" zone and basically a bunch of "Joe the Plumbers to the rest of Country and Mr. Boehner's behaviour shows that he's ONE OF US. This is WHAT WE EXPECT because HE DOESN'T KNOW US - If he knew us, he would have tried in be more intellectual and maybe use "bigger" words. THEY ARE ALL PLAYING TO THEIR BASE!

I have worked my ASS off and Obama is attempting to take it away. Have fun finding a job when 84% of the small business owners do what I will do. We are taking our chips and cashing out. Welcome to the USSA honey!!

Barack has abstained %46 of the time compared to Boener's %5. So I agree, Obama resists making the tough decisions.

I disagree. They will glossed over, downplayed or ignored by the MSM, just like they were for that rapist Clinton. And a calculated minor distraction like the bombing of an aspirin factory will be touted as big news instead. You see, the way it works is this: if you're a Republican then they even rifle through your garbage; if you're a Democrat, then they are stopped, even if they get that far(remember Hillary's famous "because WE are the president?"). In other words, Republicans are fair game, and Democrats are a protected species.

Remember, Liberals are only tolerant when you agree with them.

I was there as well and to be quite honest that wasn't the moment that stood out most to me. To be honest I'm not hard core Republican or Democrat but it seemed more like a joke than anything.

I think we are all tired of these people who call themselves 'Independents' then go on to slam McCain or anyone else supporting him. I vote both ways, but because of the angry democrats still mad that Gore & Kerry didn't win, they resort to vicious attacks on any republican. Now that is a sad 'joke'. I don't want any part of that mentality, so this year I'm voting republican for McCain.

I agree with John Boehner. Being President means making those hard decisions, so why should Americans vote for someone who hasn't put their foot down and taken a strong stand against or for anything?

He went on and on about how it was unconstitutional to protect the lives of born alive babies, then when it came to vote, he pressed the "chicken" button. Look at this man's Illinois Senate voting record, "Present" 124 times. How the hell do you expect him to make the life or death decisions Presidents like Truman, Reagan, Clinton and Bush have made?

YOu folks so outraged over some abstained votes out of thousands of votes cast crack me up when we compare this current administration that is the most corrupt in recent history. The things we really base our votes on are so surface when you think of how we as a nation have been ripped off over the past eight years, demeaned, violated (through the abuses of power and violations of our constution.) The double standard being placed upon Obama is disheartening and egregious. How will he make the important decisions? Probably a lot more comprehensively and thoughtful than that present administration. I know that's not saying much since the current administration cares nothing for Americans, Soldiers, or this country; but that should tell you something. Also, comparing him to the likes of Dubya is insulting. Get with the program and stop being so afraid...BOO!!!

Don't know about the others, but the country would have been a lot better off if Bush had sat on his ranch and made no decisions at all the last years. Better no decision at all than a brainless one.

Folks, it's so old...hearing you dems run down bush...aren't ya happy...he's almost gone...he's not corrupt. If he was, believe me, you loons would have found something to base getting him booted from office....you're such a broken record. I'll be glad for him when he is out of office so he doesn't have to take this mob mentality any more for simply doing his best to run a country that is powered by the leftist media and Dems that will do and say anything...including mocking the president, or mocking mccain, or mocking cheney...etc...yet, one person says anything against poor BHO and you folks freak out..Theres a leftist radio station guy that said that Joe the Plumber should be murdered...had that been said about stupid Obama, it'd be all over the airwaves...Get a grip...get over it...Bush won in 00 and 04 and dems have been working on corrupting the publics mind ever since...they can't stand not having power...they were so used to having it through so many decades..they will say or do anything to win! Pathetic...No morals, no sense of common decency...unbelievable!

You must be quite ignorant of politics. For the past two years, the Democrats have been absolutely in charge! They used the same motto two years ago, "Change" and look what happen, foreclosures, bankruptcies, bail-out of the rich. Do you realize, we have a three system government, the Executive (President), and Legislative (Congress, i.e., Reid/Pelosi) and the Judicial (Supreme Court). President Bush can't do anything unless Congress approves the legislative actions and appropriates funds. The alias being used by Barrack Hussein Obama (see Berg vs Obama on the docket of the Supreme Court) is an illegal alien, named Barry Mohamed Soetoro, IAW Indonesia laws. When is second Muslim father adopted him in Indonesia, the courts approved the adoption and a name change. When he re-entered the US, illegally, in Hawaii, he had been out of the US and had not renewed his citizenship, which by the way, Indonesia did not recognize dual citizenship anyway and it was taken from him. In addition, to violating our immigration laws, he or his grandparents, never petitioned the Hawaii courts for a name change to Barrack Hussein Obama. In addition, most importantly of all, since he is still a legal citizen of Indonesia, and if he had gone through the process of gaining back his American citizenship through the then INS, he would be ineligible to be President, read the US Constitution, your writings indicate your lack of having taken any civic lessons in school. I am not saying you are a dolt, but you need to be more informed, instead of mindlessly following people. Hitler did the same think, he spoke a good game and he influenced the uninformed, and look what happened! Go to today's DrudgeReport.Com his newest idea is to create a militia for every state. We have had that for years, it is called the National Guard and also the Reserve forces. He wants to re-create a group of radical civilians, i.e., the Black Panthers and have them be the miltia required by Congress. It is remarkable how stupid this fool is. To think, he states, he teaches Constitutional law, yet he violated the law by being an illegal alien running for President, and the DNC has kept their mouths shut, but the Supreme Court is now involved. The DNC and all the people who were scammed by this criminal, I feel pity for you. Next time, be an informed voter, don't fall for the BS politicians spill every election!

So voting present on theissues is not a cocnern? So when something critical comes across Obama's desk, we can sure count on someone who will sit there an be present. Take a stand! Oh wait, then he would have to support that. What a joke....

You have no idea what an O presidency will mean - the absurdity of voting for O because Boehner called him a chicken - this isn't even high school BS - it is the play ground in elementay school!

Lets think about this the guy votes present 129 times avoiding a stand on his record, he hides himself and his VP Joe from the press the last 30 days or so so that there won't be any gaffes - again - playing it safe. The press protects him since day one - once he is in the White House with Pelosi, and Harry we will see the biggest far left government in the history of the US - all the current whiners will "finally" get it when the left wing starts flapping away all our rights and increases our taxes. But you wont vote for McCain because Boegner insulted O BUT you will vote for O who flat out lied - "I'll work with teh Republican Nominee to use public funds to campaign - $600 million private dollars - guess you would rather vote for a liar than a name caller.

What so you Democrats can continue to distroy what we hold precious - freedom!!!! Obama is dirty and he will absolutely distroy this country!
Obama went to Kenya to campaign for the murderous, Islam-backed Odinga on OUR tax dollar!!

Quote from Barack Obama's book, Dreams Of My Father:

"THE PERSON WHO MADE ME PROUDEST OF ALL, THOUGH, WAS MY [half brother], ROY..HE CONVERTED TO ISLAM".
(He's PROUD of somebody who converted to Islam???)

From 'Dreams of my Father', "IN INDONESIA, I SPEND TWO YEARS AT A MUSLIM SCHOOL" "..I STUDIED THE KORAN.."

(The Obama camp denies this- yet it's in his own book in his own words)

From 'Audacity of Hope: "LOLO (Obama's step father) FOLLOWED ISLAM...."I LOOKED TO LOLO FOR GUIDANCE".

(Do you think, as a practicing Muslim, the stepfather didn't do his duty and lead him down the path of Islam?)

From 'The Audacity Of Hope, "I WILL STAND WITH THEM (MUSLIMS) SHOULD THE POLITICAL WINDS OF WAR SHOULD TURN IN AN UGLY DIRECTION."
(Hasn't he proven this by campaigning for the Islam-backed Odinga? By sponsoring a 'Halal Food act?)

Let's see if after 4 years of Obama, the word "healing" is what this country has gone through. I agree the word for the next 4 years of Obama will start with an "H" but HEALING is not the word I am thinking of. Starts with H and ends with ELL. This man is anything but a healer. He is a joke. Looking at his record with LOGIC (not emotion with name calling) tells us so.
