School year starts smoke-free
In an effort to snuff out second-hand smoke, Miami University enacted its on-campus smoking ban Aug. 1.
Miami's Board of Trustees originally approved the smoking ban proposal Sept. 14, 2007, with the 2008-09 school year the first to see the change.
With the smoking ban in effect just shy of a month, Miami President David Hodge said he has not heard anything negative thus far.…

City eases penalty for furniture ordinance
This year, students will not have to worry about having a blemish on their records for leaving their beer pong tables outside on the first offense.

CampusFraternities seek housing exemption Miami University's new sophomore residency program is underway, with 15 Miami fraternities applying for exemptions for sophomores living in their off-campus houses. The residency program, which requires all second-year students to live on campus, will officially begin as members of the class of 2012 choose residence halls to live in during their sophomore year.

OpEd PageOxford springs eternal I'm sure you have seen that the Oxford you left in the spring is not the same as the one you returned to several days ago. Many improvements have been made over the course of the summer, perhaps most notably the sidewalks and pavement along High Street.
