Police M-4 cartoon lacks respect for police

The continued disrespect of local police should end. The anti-police chants at the blackout protest were not surprising. Uneducated comments about last year's taser-related death were to be expected. Jokes about doughnuts and coffee are tolerable.

But enough is enough. Just days ago four police officers were killed in Oakland, Calif. Two were performing a felony traffic stop, the other two were attempting to arrest the cop-killer.

Apparently oblivious to this tragedy and the circumstances that surround it, Emily Kusko has produced a cartoon that mocks the seriousness of the work and the dangers involved.

There is no problem with questioning the tactics and procedures of local police departments, but to diminish their service is senseless and juvenile.
